DIY All Natural Face Masks

The skin is the largest organ of the body, and it often needs all the care that you can give. It is by turn dry, oily, sensitive, acne prone or even a combination of the lot. Whatever special skin care concern you may have, there is a DIY all natural facemask for you!
For Sensitive Skin
Does your skin react poorly to even the gentlest of cleansers? Do you break out in hives at the sight of an over-the-counter abrasive scrub? Luckily, there are a number of all natural home recipes suited for the most sensitive of skin.
Ingredients:
1 cup of yogurt (natural)
2 tablespoons of honey
1/3 cup of oatmeal
Directions:
1. Mix the yogurt, oatmeal, and honey. If you want a smoother consistency, mix the ingredients in the blender for a few seconds.
2. Apply to the skin. Fingers will work, but brushes make the application easier.
3. Leave the mixture on the skin for 15 to 20 minutes.
4. Remove the mask with a warm washcloth.
This mask will help keep your sensitive skin smooth and moisturized! It is particularly good for people with sunburn.
For Oily and Acne Prone Skin
One of the best ways to combat acne and excess oil is with bentonite clay. This green powdery substance can be purchased in health food stores. It draws impurities from the skin, makes pores appear smaller, exfoliates, and removes pore-clogging sebum.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of bentonite clay
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
Directions:
1. Mix the clay and vinegar in a non-metal bowl. Stir until the mixture reaches a spreadable consistency.
2. Spread onto a clean face. It is easiest to apply with a brush.
3. Wait 15 minutes, or until the mask has dried. You may feel a pulsating sensation but don't worry, this means the mask is working!
4. Wash your face.
This mask will help to clean your skin of impurities, and prevent future acne. Don't use it more than 2 to 3 times a week, however, or it might irritate your skin.
For Dry Skin
Do you suffer from dry, chapped skin? Do the harsh winter months take its toll on your face? There are a number of home recipes that can cure even the driest of skin.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Stir the sugar, oil, honey, and cinnamon together until they form a paste. If you are having difficulties achieving the right texture, warm the mixture in the microwave for a few seconds.
2. Apply the mixture to the face. Be careful not to scrub too hard! Brown sugar is an excellent exfoliating tool, but scrubbing too vigorously can damage the surface of the skin.
3. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes.
4. Wash it off with warm water.
This mask exfoliates, cleanses, and moisturizes while the brown sugar takes off dead skin cells. The oil infuses the skin with moisture and the honey acts as an emollient and a humectant, in that it softens skin and traps moisture. The cinnamon has anti-fungal properties, reducing bacteria and infusing the skin with antioxidants.
